A motorist has been apprehended after a pedestrian was hospitalized with severe injuries in an accident this evening. Emergency services rushed to Friar Lane on Sunday evening in response to the serious traffic collision. Reports from Nottingham Live indicate that the car driver has been detained, and the pedestrian has been hospitalized with severe injuries.
The normally bustling city center nightlife area is unusually quiet as businesses have been compelled to shut down early due to the incident.
Local hotspot Ned’s Cavern took to social media to inform its patrons: “Regrettably, due to an ongoing situation on Friar Lane, which has been closed off by local authorities, we are obliged to shut down tonight. We regret any inconvenience and look forward to serving you tomorrow.”
Authorities are seeking witnesses and dashcam footage of the occurrence as inquiries persist at the scene tonight.
Friar Lane is currently shut between its intersections with Maid Marian Way and Beastmarket Hill while investigations at the scene are ongoing.
