Images have emerged depicting the aftermath of a lorry crash that resulted in the destruction of garden walls, five cars, and a shed. The incident occurred at approximately 5:50 am on March 24 along Sheffield Road in Oxspring. The photos reveal the lorry coming to a halt in the middle of residents’ gardens after plowing through stone walls and vehicles.
Caroline Lyons, a 34-year-old resident of Sheffield Road, credited two parked cars and her neighbor’s shed for preventing the lorry from hitting her semi-detached home. The lorry finally stopped after colliding with the parked vehicles and a large outhouse in Lyons’ garden.
Although the driver of the lorry was taken to the hospital as a precaution, no serious injuries were reported. Aerial images captured the extensive damage caused by the collision. The lorry had also damaged parked cars, struck a house, and crashed into a shed housing a family boat, described as their “pride and joy.”
The crash, according to South Yorkshire Police, resulted in damage to a wall and an unoccupied property. Cleanup efforts have since begun at the site of the incident.
