Wimbledon qualifying matches have been halted due to technical issues with the electronic line-calling system triggered by the intense heat. The system is currently undergoing a full recalibration, causing a delay in the matches. Initially scheduled to resume at 1:15 pm, the restart time has been revised to 1:25 pm, with play set to resume shortly after.
According to a spokesperson from the All England Club, a temporary power loss at the Qualifying venue disrupted the electronic line-calling system. Power has been restored, and matches are expected to recommence soon.
BBC presenter Annabel Croft commented on the situation, noting the impact of the heat on the electronic line-calling system across the venue. Following an announcement to the audience about the delay, Croft emphasized the need to stay hydrated.
Player Dan Evans faced Tristan Schoolkate in a resumed match and was defeated, ending his singles campaign. The official draw for the first round, starting on June 29, will be finalized once all qualifying games are concluded.
