Police have cordoned off a bustling city center street following a significant incident. Emergency services swiftly arrived at a location in Birmingham city center on Sunday evening in response to reports of an individual falling from a building, reportedly located within the Henman & Cooper establishment, known for its rooftop terrace.
West Midlands Police confirmed their response to the incident on Colmore Row earlier in the evening. Witnesses observed emergency workers concealing the scene. Multiple police cars and three ambulances were present near the beginning of the pedestrianized zone close to Council House.
A man was reported to have suffered severe injuries after a major fall within a building along the street and has been hospitalized. An eyewitness, who was present at a nearby bar, expressed surprise at the rapid arrival of emergency services on the scene.
The police have reduced their presence at the incident, but officers are still visible near the bar, where police tape marks the area off. Revelers have been turned away by the authorities. In an official statement, the police stated that they were in Birmingham city center on Colmore Row following reports of a man falling from a building and sustaining serious injuries. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
