“Sunny Bank Holiday Forecast for UK at 18C”

The UK is set to enjoy sunny weather on Bank Holiday Monday, with temperatures reaching around 18C as people head to the beaches for some fun.

Despite earlier concerns of a wet day, the forecast for the Early May Bank Holiday in Britain suggests mostly dry conditions. The majority of the country can expect sunny intervals throughout the day, with a chance of light showers in the southern regions, according to a weather expert.

Areas surrounding London, including Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, and Greater London, are likely to experience the warmest temperatures, peaking at around 18C. The south coast is forecasted to reach highs of 16C, while the north could see temperatures of up to 15C, as indicated by the latest weather maps.

Jim Dale, a senior meteorologist at British Weather Services, mentioned that the day would be mostly dry with light showers in far southern parts of England and Wales, as well as in the northern regions of Scotland. Temperatures are expected to be average for this time of year, with London reaching around 18C.

Southern England may experience a foggy start on Bank Holiday Monday, followed by light drizzle along the south coast. Towards the evening, there is a possibility of thunderstorms developing between Exeter and Brighton, according to weather forecasts.

Although showers are anticipated throughout the day, they are expected to be light in nature, particularly in the south. The Met Office reassured that any scattered showers would be milder compared to previous days during the long weekend.

Mark Sidaway, the deputy chief forecaster at the Met Office, stated that Bank Holiday Monday will see a mix of clouds and scattered showers in southern and central areas, but these showers are likely to be lighter and less frequent than over the weekend.

In the north and northeast of England, temperatures may feel slightly cooler, but light winds should prevent it from feeling excessively cold. The Met Office mentioned that while temperatures will be close to average for many areas, there might be a chillier feel in the northern and northeastern regions.
