“Trump Launches ‘Project Freedom’ to Guide Ships Stranded in Hormuz”

The President of the United States has declared that vessels from countries not involved in the conflict with Iran, currently stranded in the Strait of Hormuz, will receive guidance to exit on Monday morning.

Using Truth Social, former President Trump announced the launch of a new initiative named ‘Project Freedom’ set for tomorrow as part of a humanitarian mission. This effort aims to release ships trapped in the global shipping route, offering relief to people, companies, and nations uninvolved in the turmoil.

Following the attack on Tehran by US-Israeli missiles on February 28, the Strait of Hormuz has become a contentious issue. Iran has blockaded the crucial shipping passage, affecting approximately 20% of global oil transportation, leading to fuel shortages and increased costs. With negotiations stalled between US and Iranian representatives in Islamabad, Pakistan, last month, the US navy initiated a blockade on Iran’s ports.

Trump emphasized that only ‘innocent’ bystanders impacted by the situation will be permitted to leave on the following morning. He affirmed the commitment to guide ships from various neutral nations out of the Strait, ensuring their safe passage to resume their operations.

Confirming the start of the operation labeled “Project Freedom” on Monday morning, the President shared that this development coincides with Iran’s proposal of a 14-point plan to the US aimed at ending the conflict. Additionally, Iran has requested a 30-day extension to the ceasefire, indicating progress in the negotiations.

While acknowledging positive discussions with Iran, the President warned of a forceful response if the humanitarian effort is disrupted. He stressed the importance of this gesture in aiding affected parties and fostering goodwill amidst ongoing tensions in the region.

The humanitarian initiative is seen as a means to alleviate the plight of those inadvertently caught in the conflict, including crew members facing scarcity of essential supplies. Any interference with this process would prompt a necessary and robust reaction to safeguard the operation and those involved.
