A young child is in critical condition following a tragic drowning incident at a hotel pool on a Spanish island. The four-year-old was rescued from the swimming pool in southern Gran Canaria over the weekend. Despite immediate medical attention, the child’s condition remains severe.
Reports indicate that the boy experienced a significant drowning episode, prompting emergency services to swiftly transfer him to a private medical facility in San Bartolomé de Tirajana. Due to a deterioration in his condition, specialist rescue teams were called in to facilitate his relocation.
The child was airlifted by medics from the Canary Islands Emergency Service (SUC) via helicopter to Las Palmas for urgent treatment. Throughout the transfer, a dedicated team of medical professionals, including a doctor and a nurse, closely monitored his condition.
Upon arrival at the University Maternal and Child Hospital in Las Palmas, the boy was received by medical staff and pediatric specialists. Prior to the emergency transfer, the child had displayed severe drowning symptoms and is currently in a serious state.
