A massive sugar sculpture resembling London’s famous Tower Bridge has been unveiled, showcasing intricate details crafted from over 25kg of sugar. This edible replica, taking more than 150 hours to create, stands at almost two-and-a-half feet tall and includes features like the iconic towers and walkway.
Renowned artist Michelle Wibowo meticulously designed the sugar sculpture by studying the bridge’s architecture, meticulously sketching each element before bringing the sweet creation to life. The artwork was commissioned by Kellogg’s for their ‘Reductive Art Exhibition – a story of salt and sugar,’ highlighting the brand’s significant reduction in salt and sugar content in its cereals over the past decade.
Wibowo expressed enthusiasm for the unique exhibition, which will feature various sugar and salt sculptures, sketches, and animations created by talented artists like Quentin Devine and Gala Bell. The exhibition, opening in London and Paris on 8th and 9th September at gallery@oxo, aims to provide a visual representation of Kellogg’s commitment to healthier breakfast choices without compromising taste.
