Ryanair provided an update following the grounding of flights at an airport where fire crews were present the previous day. Firefighters were spotted on the tarmac at Manchester Airport on Thursday evening due to an incident involving Ryanair flight RK558 from Dublin to Manchester. The flight landed at Terminal 3 just after 6 pm, prompting the airport to suspend operations while emergency responders addressed the situation.
An eyewitness mentioned that there was a 30-minute halt in flight operations, with reports indicating smoke emanating from the aircraft. Ryanair, in a statement released the next morning, attributed the incident to a minor technical issue affecting the plane. After passengers disembarked, the aircraft underwent inspection by Ryanair engineers.
A Ryanair spokesperson stated, “Flight RK558 from Dublin to Manchester on March 19 encountered a minor technical problem upon landing. Passengers and crew disembarked normally, and the aircraft was towed back for assessment by Ryanair engineers.”
A Manchester Airport representative confirmed the incident involving the Ryanair aircraft, citing a loading issue that led to a fluid leak. Fire engines were dispatched to ensure the safety of the plane before it was relocated to a stand.
