A photo has surfaced showing the initial meeting between Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Peter Mandelson shortly before they were later photographed alongside Jeffrey Epstein in bathrobes. The encounter took place during a National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children (NSPCC) luncheon in 1999 at Buckingham Palace, where they discussed combating child abuse under the NSPCC’s Full Stop Campaign.
Despite their roles in the campaign, both Andrew and Peter have faced allegations related to Epstein and have been arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office. In an interview, Andrew emphasized his commitment to child welfare as a father and hoped for progress in the future.
Giles Pegram, the former NSPCC director of fundraising, expressed regret for bringing Andrew and Mandelson together for the project, given the subsequent controversies. He acknowledged that with hindsight, he would have made different decisions regarding their appointments.
The NSPCC has condemned the exploitative behavior revealed in the Epstein files and emphasized the importance of holding all individuals involved accountable. They stand in solidarity with the victims and advocate for justice and support for those who have bravely spoken out against such abuses.
