Britain’s top attraction has been unveiled, and it may come as a surprise to many. The UK offers a plethora of thrilling family activities, ranging from exhilarating roller coasters and themed areas to water parks, coastal resorts, museums, and national parks. With such a wide array of options, selecting the ideal day out, particularly during school breaks, can be a daunting task. However, one destination has emerged as the standout choice.
In a survey conducted by Which?, Eureka! Science + Discovery in Merseyside has been crowned the best-rated attraction in the UK. After evaluating over 5,000 excursions submitted by Which? members and the public, this Merseyside gem achieved an impressive 85% rating, surpassing renowned attractions like Alton Towers, Thorpe Park, and Legoland for the top position.
Experts have lauded Eureka!, which features a multi-story climbing tree, as akin to an indoor adventure park while being just as educational as a science museum. Guests can explore six interactive zones, from traversing a pair of lungs to trying out DJing in the bathroom, in addition to participating in creative workshops and various activities tailored for younger children.
Noteworthy for its relatively lower profile compared to larger attractions, Eureka! offers shorter queues and promises no overcrowding, as highlighted by Which?. Its budget-friendly pricing is another draw, with admission tickets priced at £16.95 for adults and children aged three and above, £7.45 for those aged one or two, and free entry for infants under one, as reported by the Liverpool Echo.
Praising it as an outstanding interactive science museum, one visitor on TripAdvisor remarked, “Great science museum near the ferry. Extremely friendly staff and engaging exhibits. Ideal for children under 12, but adults also had a great time.”
Another visitor shared, “Visited with family during the half term. The interactive exhibitions are full of fascinating facts, providing something new for kids to discover and enjoy on each visit. We’ve been about 15 times since it opened, and the kids (2 and 5) love it.”
Following its recognition as the UK’s best-visited attraction, Eureka! Chief Executive Leigh-Anne Stradeski expressed delight at being acknowledged by Which? visitors. She emphasized that Eureka! Science + Discovery aims to ignite curiosity in young individuals and that the positive feedback on the experience and value for money from families is highly appreciated. The focus remains on making learning enjoyable and adventurous, a sentiment echoed by visitors. For more information or to plan your visit, visit the Eureka! Science + Discovery website.
