K-pop sensation BTS is facing criticism from some fans following their appearance with controversial American singer Chris Brown at his recent concert in Toronto. J-Hope (Jung Ho-seok) and RM (Kim Nam-joon) were spotted at Brown’s show at Rogers Stadium, where he performed alongside Usher.
Photos shared on Brown’s Instagram showed J-Hope and RM posing with the singer and enjoying the performance. Brown, known for his legal troubles, has a criminal record dating back to 2009 when he pleaded guilty to assaulting his then-girlfriend, singer Rihanna. He has faced multiple assault charges and spent time in jail in 2014. Recently, he pleaded guilty to an assault charge in a London nightclub incident.
The online reactions from BTS’s fanbase, known as ARMY, have been mixed. While some fans expressed disappointment in the members for associating with Brown, others defended J-Hope and RM, suggesting they may have attended the concert to see Usher and not necessarily to support Brown.
The debate among fans highlights differing opinions on whether the members’ actions should be judged based on one event. Representatives for BTS have not yet responded to requests for comment on the matter.
