A popular tourist spot in the UK has reopened after a two-year closure due to storm damage. The Steep Ravine at Bluestone National Park Resort was inaccessible to guests since Storm Darragh hit in December 2024. Following a restoration effort, the woodlands in the area have been rejuvenated, with fallen trees and natural debris left to aid soil recovery and encourage plant growth.
Visitors to Bluestone can now enjoy the newly enhanced Ravine, featuring exciting additions like the ‘Summit Flight’ zip line spanning 279 meters and the ‘Double Glide’ zip lines designed for gradual confidence-building. The reopening also marks the return of Camp Smokey and Smokey Joe’s Shindig, offering outdoor dining and evening entertainment with family-friendly activities.
James McNamara, Bluestone’s director of product and program development, expressed pride in the careful restoration process, emphasizing the significance of the Steep Ravine to guests and staff. Summer getaways at Bluestone start from £400 for a four-night stay at a Caldey Lodge with arrival on June 8, 2026.
