A man identified as Keanu Taylor, aged 25, has tragically passed away after being shot in Brixton, south London. The incident occurred in the early hours of Saturday morning when a car approached, firing seven shots from across the road, according to a witness interviewed by the BBC. The shooting took place while people were gathered outside Southwyck House for a barbecue on Friday evening, with families present.
In addition to Keanu, three other individuals, aged 21, 47, and 70, were also hospitalized, but their injuries are reported as non-life-threatening. The Metropolitan Police has initiated a murder investigation into the incident, with no arrests made so far.
The police responded to reports of multiple gunshots on Coldharbour Lane in Brixton at 01:14hrs on Saturday, May 2nd. Detectives, including specialized crime units, arrived at the scene within four minutes, providing immediate medical assistance alongside the London Ambulance Service.
Detective Chief Inspector Allam Bhangoo, leading the investigation, described the incident as a “shocking act of violence” and appealed to the public for any information or footage related to the case. He emphasized the importance of community cooperation in identifying the perpetrators and ensuring justice for the victims.
