The Isle of Man TT organization has sadly reported the tragic death of Daniel Ingham, aged 33, following an incident during a qualifying session on Wednesday. Ingham, a rider from Melton Mowbray in Leicestershire, lost his life after an accident at Doran’s Bend on the course.
The unfortunate event took place during the initial lap of the third qualifying session. Ingham is survived by his wife, Helayna, and their two children. A statement released stated, “The Isle of Man TT Races is saddened to confirm the passing of Daniel Ingham, aged 33, from Melton Mowbray, due to an incident during yesterday’s qualifying session at the Isle of Man TT Races.”
The incident occurred at Doran’s Bend during the first lap of the third qualifying session. Ingham began his journey on the Mountain Course in 2016, starting as a competitor in the Manx Grand Prix before advancing to the Isle of Man TT Races.
Throughout his ten years of competing, Ingham achieved several podium finishes, notably securing first place in the 2024 Senior Manx Grand Prix. The Isle of Man TT Races expressed their deepest condolences to his family, including his wife, Helayna, and his children, Joey and Phoebe, as well as his relatives and friends.
Ingham’s passing marks the first fatality at the TT since 2024 and follows a tragic accident at the Billown circuit on the island during the Pre-TT Classic Road Races last weekend.
Numerous tributes have flooded in following the news of Ingham’s untimely death. Fans have expressed their sorrow and admiration for his dedication and passion for the sport. Additionally, on Wednesday, popular Sidecar class competitors Ryan and Callum Crowe, winners of the 2025 race, were hospitalized after a crash. This incident was preceded by another in the Sidecar class on Tuesday involving rider Maria Costello, who is currently in a serious but stable condition.
As a precautionary measure for the safety of competitors and spectators, the Isle of Man TT has decided to suspend the Sidecar class for the remainder of the event, which concludes on June 6. The Race Organization emphasized the importance of prioritizing safety and assured that updates on the situation will be communicated through official Isle of Man TT Races channels.
