The Isle of Man TT came to a standstill after a “serious incident” involving a rider and eight spectators, all of whom needed medical attention. The incident took place at the exit of Parliament Square in Ramsey. Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson confirmed the cancellation of the day’s remaining schedule as efforts to manage the incident continued.
A statement from the event stated that the session was immediately halted, and all racing activities around the Mountain Course were suspended to allow for the implementation of serious incident response procedures. The incident, which involved a single competitor and multiple spectators, occurred at the exit of Parliament Square. The competitor was taken to Nobles Hospital with leg injuries but was conscious and communicating. Additionally, eight spectators requiring treatment were also conscious and transferred to Nobles Hospital for further evaluation and care. As a precaution, all further racing activities for the day were suspended.
Following the event’s standard procedures, an investigation involving race, medical, and safety personnel is now underway. The Isle of Man TT Races expressed gratitude to the marshals, medical teams, emergency services, and all involved in responding to the incident. The event organizers extended their thoughts to those affected.
The 2026 Isle of Man TT event, conducted on closed public roads covering the 37.7-mile (60km) Mountain Course, is scheduled to continue until June 6. Additionally, the Southern 100 confirmed the unfortunate passing of rider Alan Oversby following an incident during the Pre-TT Classic Road Races on the Isle of Man.
