Voting is currently taking place in the largest elections in the UK since 2024. Polling stations opened at 7 am in England, Scotland, and Wales. Here is a collection of the most interesting photos from various locations across the country.
The elections will see the election of 5,013 councillors, with contests being held for 134 out of the country’s 317 councils. These include 32 London boroughs, six county councils, and six unitary authorities, such as East Surrey and West Surrey, which are newly established.
