While thousands gathered at the National Mall on Sunday, May 17 for this occasion, the president allegedly opted to spend his day at the Trump National Golf Club in Sterling, Virginia.
Described as a historic assembly by the Freedom 250 website, the event known as “Rededicate 250” featured a range of activities such as Scripture readings, testimonials, prayers, and a recommitment of the nation to God. The day’s events included morning fellowship near the U.S. Capitol and an evening of music on 12th Street, all centered around expressing gratitude for God’s presence throughout the nation’s 250-year history and seeking divine guidance for the future.
In a social media post on Truth Social, Trump conveyed his greetings to those attending the Rededicate 250 event, offering assistance and signing off as “President DJT.” Although he was expected to appear via video message at the gathering, reports indicate that Trump spent a considerable portion of the afternoon at his golf club, arriving just before 1 pm and departing around 4:20 pm.
Notably, Trump has a history of spending Sundays at his various golf clubs. According to data from “Did Trump Golf Today,” a tracker of the president’s golf outings, Trump has played golf on approximately 22% of his days in office, totaling 106 golf sessions out of his first 483 days back in office. This figure reflects his preference for golfing activities, as evidenced by previous instances where he chose to golf over attending other significant events.
