A woman’s body was discovered in a wooded area following an extensive search for a missing individual. Joanna Lewis, aged 59, disappeared from Tonbridge, Kent on April 29, prompting concerns from the authorities. She was last sighted in the Colts Hill vicinity around 9am before potentially heading to nearby Tudeley woods.
Kent Police, during their search efforts, shared a photo of Joanna, describing her as 5ft 4in tall, slim, with shoulder-length brown hair. Tragically, a body of a woman was located in the woodland near Half Moon Lane. The police confirmed that the woman was pronounced dead at the scene and Joanna Lewis’ family has been notified. The authorities stated that the incident is not deemed suspicious, and a report is being prepared for the coroner.
In an official statement, Kent Police announced, “Officers have recovered a body while searching for a missing woman from Tonbridge. The discovery took place in woodland near Half Moon Lane on the morning of Friday, May 1, 2026, where the woman was found deceased.” The police added, “The family of the 59-year-old woman, who was last seen on April 29, 2026, has been notified. The death is currently not considered suspicious, and a report will be submitted to the coroner.”
