Dollyfest, a music festival honoring Dolly Parton’s legacy, is scheduled for 2027 without the iconic singer herself. Originally planned for her 80th birthday, the event was postponed due to health issues. However, Parton’s estate has confirmed that the festival, featuring a “star-studded” lineup, will take place in Nashville and London over two consecutive weekends next year.
Following Parton’s recent passing at 80, known for hits like “Jolene” and “9 to 5,” the festival aims to embody the celebration she envisioned sharing with the world. While details such as specific dates and musical acts remain undisclosed, organizer Danny Nozell assured that the essence of what Parton initiated will be faithfully represented.
Notably, the festival’s locations hold significance to Parton, having lived in Nashville and performed in London throughout her illustrious career. In addition to Dollyfest, various tributes honoring the late singer have emerged, including plans at Dollywood, the theme park she revitalized in 1986. Scheduled for 2027, Dollywood will introduce new elements dedicated to Parton, such as guest kiosks for visitors to share their memories and inspirations from the legendary artist.
Moreover, Sevierville, Tennessee, Parton’s hometown, will launch “In Dolly’s Footsteps,” a city-wide project in collaboration with Dollywood featuring walking-tour markers highlighting key venues in Parton’s life story. The collective efforts underscore the enduring impact of Parton’s legacy across different realms.
