A man has been sentenced to life in prison with a minimum term of 16 years for the brutal murder of head chef Alexis De Naray. Adam Rowson, 26, was found guilty of the crime following a 12-day trial at Stafford Crown Court. The judge described the attack as “fierce, sustained, and relentless.”
Rowson, who showed no emotion during sentencing, had used De Naray’s bank card to make purchases after the murder. The court heard that the victim, aged 45, was severely beaten by Rowson and left to die in a disused garage. De Naray, known for his work as a chef, suffered traumatic injuries including a traumatic brain injury and multiple fractures.
In a victim impact statement, De Naray’s brother and father described him as a caring and talented individual. The judge emphasized De Naray’s kind-hearted nature and the impact his loss had on his loved ones.
During the proceedings, it was revealed that Rowson had shown no remorse for his actions and had attempted to cover up the crime. His defense lawyer acknowledged the role of alcohol and drugs in the incident but stated that Rowson was now sober and working towards redemption while expressing remorse for his actions.
