Emma Raducanu has withdrawn from competing at Wimbledon this year due to a stress fracture. The British No 1, who had been managing a leg injury, had hoped to play in the tournament starting soon. However, she confirmed her withdrawal on the eve of the championships.
In an Instagram post, Raducanu expressed her disappointment, stating that despite her efforts to recover in time, a final scan revealed a stress fracture that required her to stop pushing through the injury. She thanked her supporters and conveyed her eagerness to return in the future.
Raducanu, seeded 30th, was set to play Antonia Ruzic in her Wimbledon opener but will now miss the event due to the injury. The 23-year-old, who recently reached the final at Queen’s Club, where she was defeated by Donna Vekic, will have to sit out of her home Grand Slam due to this setback.
Looking ahead, tickets for Wimbledon 2026 are already available for purchase, including VIP access.
