Despite frequent consultations, her symptoms were repeatedly dismissed as normal teenage issues or menstrual problems.
Sophia mentioned her prolonged bleeding to a doctor, who attributed it to her contraceptive implant without further investigation. Only when she complained of lower back discomfort and chest pain did a doctor finally refer her to a hospital, leading to a leukemia diagnosis on March 7, 2025. Following two rounds of chemotherapy, Sophia was discharged in August 2025, now in remission.
