A man in Toledo, Ohio, named Dale Warner, 58, has been sentenced to 70 years in prison for murdering his wife, Dee Warner, 52, and hiding her body in a fertiliser tank. The verdict was reached by a Lenawee County jury after a lengthy trial.
Evidence presented in court included Warner’s police interview, witness statements, and investigative findings. The judge ruled on May 8 that Warner would serve 60 years for the murder and an additional 10 years for tampering with evidence, to be served consecutively.
Authorities revealed that Warner killed his wife, hid her body in a safe, and then placed her remains inside a fertiliser tank. This gruesome act occurred after Dee Warner expressed her desire for a divorce and planned to sell their family businesses.
Warner will not be eligible for parole for 33 years due to his heinous crime.
In a separate incident in the UK, a woman named Jo Shaw, 35, and her ex-partner, Ryan Kelly, 41, died in an explosion at her parents’ home. Kelly, who had a criminal history related to a drug gang, reportedly detonated an explosive device after entering the property forcibly.
Neighbours described Kelly arriving with what appeared to be a grenade, leading to the fatal explosion that claimed both their lives. Authorities are treating the incident as a homicide, with Avon and Somerset Police responding to a call reporting a domestic-related situation at the residence.
While formal identification is pending, police believe the victims to be Shaw and Kelly. Three others, including the initial caller, sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
One neighbour mentioned that Shaw had sought refuge at her parents’ home to escape Kelly, who had been harassing her. The neighbour recalled hearing previous disturbances and a loud bang before the fatal explosion occurred.
