A woman claims to have been scratched by a “demonic spirit” of a child named Sallie while investigating a notorious ‘haunted’ property. Brocarde, 42, opted to stay overnight at the ‘Sallie House’ in Atchison, Kansas.
The historic residence, dating back to the 19th century, is reputed to be haunted, with numerous individuals reporting encounters with paranormal phenomena and apparitions. According to local legend, a doctor performed surgery on a young girl named Sallie at the location in the early 1900s, but she tragically passed away.
Hailing from Oxfordshire, Brocarde recounted feeling deeply unsettled and physically debilitated for days after her time in the house. She described the atmosphere as profoundly eerie, draining visitors of their energy upon arrival.
The house, nearly devoid of furnishings except for a vast collection of toys and dolls, exudes an antiquated charm akin to a neglected ancestral home. The scent within the premises is a peculiar blend of decay and strong chemicals.
One of the most chilling rooms is the nursery, where Brocarde found herself surrounded by dolls arranged as if in a séance circle. Standing in the circle’s center, she experienced a sensation of heaviness in her legs, as if they were being pulled into the ground.
As the afternoon progressed, peculiar occurrences intensified, culminating in a distressing encounter around 3 am. Brocarde alleged that an unseen force grabbed her leg in the basement, prompting her to confront a malevolent presence she described as “otherworldly.”
Attempting to communicate with ‘Sallie,’ she picked up a pink crayon, only for it to break in her hand. Switching to a black crayon, she inquired about the spirit’s message, receiving a chilling response of “Go home” before feeling a sharp pain in her arm. Revealing five scratch marks resembling tally marks on her arm, she also reported feeling ill, feverish, and disoriented while witnessing the apparition of a young girl.
In a harrowing turn of events, Brocarde followed the spectral figure into a bedroom, only to encounter a toy dog at the base of the stairs, raising questions about the entity’s whereabouts. Convinced it was time to depart, she headed towards the basement, where she was once again accosted by an unseen force gripping her leg.
Convinced of the sinister nature of the entity haunting the Sallie House, Brocarde made a hasty exit, reflecting on a disturbing drawing of Sallie in the kitchen that starkly contrasted with the apparition she had encountered.
