Tense moments unfolded as Sir Keir Starmer arrived to meet with local Jewish leaders today. A crowd of around 200 people gathered, some pushing forward and being restrained by numerous police officers. They patiently waited outside while the Prime Minister extended his visit to the community center, staying much longer than anticipated.
While some attendees were surprised and appreciative of Starmer’s presence in Golders Green and his extended stay, a significant portion of the crowd displayed anger. Similar to the previous day when they disrupted Met Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley, their frustrations were directed towards figures of authority.
During the event, a man within the crowd intervened to defend Starmer against protestors who were criticizing him. As Starmer left the premises, extra police reinforcements were deployed to ensure his safe departure. Despite some confrontations from the crowd, there were also expressions of gratitude towards the law enforcement officers following the conclusion of the protest.
