“EE Unveils Enhanced Scam Guard Service with AI Triple-Lock Protection”

EE has introduced an upgraded version of its Scam Guard service to combat the increasing threat of scams preying on unsuspecting individuals. Statistics reveal that millions of pounds are lost daily in the UK due to cyber theft, highlighting the urgent need for enhanced protection measures.

The new Scam Guard update is now accessible to all EE pay-monthly mobile customers for a monthly fee of £2. Despite this additional cost, EE assures subscribers that the upgraded service provides significantly improved security features.

Since its initial launch in 2024, EE’s Scam Guard has successfully thwarted 169 million scam and spam attempts. With the latest enhancements, EE anticipates doubling this figure over the next year, demonstrating the effectiveness of the service in safeguarding users.

At the core of the upgraded Scam Guard is AI Triple-Lock Protection, comprising three advanced digital security components powered by Norton’s Genie AI engine. These features include Safe Email, offering proactive scam protection for email accounts around the clock, Safe SMS, which detects sophisticated scams in text messages using advanced AI technology, and Safe Web, utilizing AI to block malicious websites during online activities.

Moreover, the enhanced Scam Guard introduces Scam Assistant, enabling customers to receive instant guidance by uploading screenshots of suspicious texts, emails, or websites. Additionally, Social Media Monitoring and Dark Web Monitoring feature alert users to any suspicious online behavior promptly, allowing for immediate action to be taken.

Malcolm Cubitt, Director of Product, Mobile at EE, emphasized the importance of adapting to evolving fraud threats, especially with the rise of AI-driven scams. He highlighted EE’s commitment to customer protection through innovative security measures, including industry partnerships, network-level controls, and a dedicated security team. The enhanced Scam Guard service underscores EE’s dedication to providing top-tier cybersecurity protection to its customers.
