The spouse of a rapper on death row from the UK is experiencing distress after witnessing his chilling execution. Tiana Krasniqi, a 31-year-old law school graduate, observed the lethal injection of James Broadnax, 37, in a Texas prison. The couple recently tied the knot in a brief ceremony at the Allan B. Polunsky Unit. Initially reaching out to Broadnax for legal purposes, Tiana had campaigned for clemency following his conviction for the 2008 shootings of two Christian music producers.
However, Tiana now discloses that she is tormented by memories of his final moments and shares excerpts from his last letter to her before his demise. Expressing her anguish on TikTok, Tiana writes: “I am plagued by flashbacks of the execution, experiencing panic attacks. The abrupt realization that he is gone forever hits me hard.” She also mentions the emotional exchange she had with Broadnax before his death, where he expressed fear and maintained his innocence.
Despite holding out hope until the last moment, Tiana recounts how the execution proceeded as planned. She vividly describes the scene in the penitentiary where she witnessed Broadnax’s final moments, emphasizing her emotional turmoil during the process. Tiana disputes claims of a humane execution, asserting that her husband suffered in his final moments.
Additionally, Tiana shared a touching letter dated the day of Broadnax’s execution, in which he expressed love and regret for leaving her prematurely. The case involved allegations of Broadnax being the perpetrator of the 2003 shooting in Dallas, with his cousin later confessing to the crime. Nevertheless, despite efforts to halt the execution, it proceeded as scheduled based on Broadnax’s own admission of guilt.
Various personalities in the music industry supported Broadnax’s appeal, including Travis Scott, T.I., and Killer Mike, but their efforts were unsuccessful. Amidst legal battles and appeals, Tiana relocated to Texas to fight for Broadnax’s life, enduring separation from her daughter in the process. Ultimately, Broadnax was executed following the denial of his final appeal by the US Supreme Court.
