Boxing icon Ricky Hatton’s official cause of death has been determined following his tragic passing at the age of 46 in his residence in Manchester. The confirmation came during an inquest held at Stockport Coroners Court, attended by grieving family members including Hatton’s father Ray, son Campbell, brother Mathew, and Jennifer Dooley, the mother of his daughters. Also present was his manager and close friend Paul Speak, who discovered Hatton deceased after he missed a scheduled outing.
During the emotional testimonies in court, Hatton’s mother Carol described his last encounter with her, noting his sadness and the intensity of his final hug. She highlighted that Hatton, who resided alone in Hyde, had promising future plans and was discovered by Speak in his home’s games room under distressing circumstances.
The post-mortem revealed elevated alcohol levels in Hatton’s system, indicating previous drug use. Mutch emphasized the profound loss felt by Hatton’s family, underscoring his devotion to his loved ones despite his successful boxing career. She conveyed condolences to Hatton’s father and wife, acknowledging the unimaginable grief of losing a child.
