Amazon has unveiled the latest version of its Fire TV Stick HD, offering a discounted price that might entice consumers to upgrade. This revamped device boasts several enhancements, such as a sleeker design, support for Wi-Fi 6 for improved streaming quality, and faster performance.
The new Fire TV Stick HD is over 30% faster than its predecessors, resulting in quicker boot-up times and enhanced app functionality, as per Amazon’s claims.
A notable feature of this device is its ability to draw power directly from the TV’s USB port, eliminating the need for a separate power adapter and allowing for a cleaner cable setup behind the TV.
Additionally, the device comes with Amazon’s latest Fire OS software, named Vega, which offers a more organized interface, enhanced content suggestions, and a smoother browsing experience.
Amazon stated, “The new Fire TV Stick HD is our most compact streaming device yet, with a smaller form factor and designed for direct power supply through the TV’s USB port, making it fit seamlessly behind a TV without requiring an extra power adapter.”
Originally priced at £39.99, the new Fire TV Stick HD is currently on sale for £25.99 on Amazon, marking a 35% discount.
While Amazon’s deal is appealing, bargain hunters looking to save a bit more can find the 2024 Fire TV Stick HD at both Argos and Currys for £24.99, undercutting Amazon by £1 and offering a £15 reduction from the original launch price.
The older HD model still provides access to popular streaming services like Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+, along with Full HD playback, Alexa voice control, quick app launch buttons, and smart home integration for compatible devices.
For those interested, the Fire TV Stick HD is available at Argos for £24.99 and at Currys for the same price.
