Authorities are searching for a violent assailant who viciously attacked an older individual with a machete in Glasgow.
The disturbing video captures the aggressor slashing the victim, who had previously been stabbed while inside a car. Responding to a report of a severe assault, emergency services, including armed officers and a K-9 unit, arrived swiftly at the scene shortly after noon on Tuesday.
The 77-year-old victim was rushed to the hospital with injuries that are not life-threatening. The man was allegedly stabbed inside a black Mercedes vehicle but managed to exit in an attempt to prevent the attacker from accessing the trunk.
In the video, the knife-wielding assailant is seen pushing the victim while brandishing the weapon, then proceeding to open the trunk. Clad in black attire, the perpetrator then proceeds to strike the man with a large blade as he tries to grab bags from the car. The victim evades the blows as the assailant seizes one of the bags and hurls it to the ground.
The Mercedes was confiscated by authorities, and the search for the attacker is ongoing. A spokesperson for Police Scotland stated: “At approximately 12:10 pm on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, we were notified of a serious assault that occurred within a vehicle on Auckland Wynd in Glasgow.
“Emergency services arrived, and a 77-year-old male was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Law enforcement officers remain in the vicinity, and investigations are underway to ascertain the complete details of the incident.”
A representative from the Scottish Ambulance Service mentioned: “We received a distress call at 12:05 on April 28 to respond to an incident at Auckland Wynd, Glasgow. An ambulance, two special operations response teams (SORT), a paramedic response vehicle, and a critical care team were dispatched to the location. One individual was transported to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.”
