Some Sky customers are facing an annoying issue with the popular ITVX app. Complaints started surfacing last week, with users reporting that their viewing experience is being disrupted by an unusual glitch that jumps to the end of programs unexpectedly. This means viewers are abruptly taken to the credits without using the fast-forward button on their remote, even when they are in the middle of watching a show.
On Sky’s forum page, a user named Dazzasky mentioned, “ITV Player keeps skipping ahead, usually to the end of the episode, and it’s quite frustrating to deal with; this has been happening for the past few days.”
Another Sky user, Dawn, added, “Is anyone else having trouble watching programs on ITVX for the last few days? I’m watching, then suddenly it jumps to the end randomly, showing as watched. It usually occurs at the start of the program or right after an ad break.”
The issue seems to be affecting users with Sky’s online devices, including Sky Stream boxes and Glass TVs. It is unclear if Sky Q is also impacted, but most complaints are from users with internet-powered devices rather than satellite dishes.
Although the cause of the problem is unknown, a Sky representative named Kev has acknowledged the issue and assured users that they are working on a solution. Kev stated, “We are aware of this problem and have escalated it to our support teams. They will collaborate with ITV to resolve the issue. We will provide updates as soon as we have more information.”
For now, users may have to endure the skipping problem, but a fix is hopefully in progress. Mirror Online will update this article with any developments.
