Noel Clarke, famous for his portrayal in the science fiction series “Doctor Who,” is facing legal charges involving six sexual offenses, as revealed by England and Wales’ Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) on Wednesday.
The 50-year-old British actor and filmmaker gained prominence for his role as Mickey Smith on the BBC show between 2005 and 2010. The charges against Clarke include two counts of sexual assault, one charge of exposure, and three charges of voyeurism. Voyeurism, under CPS definition, pertains to the act of observing or recording someone engaged in private activities without their consent, often for sexual satisfaction.
The alleged offenses linked to Clarke reportedly occurred from 2007 to 2016 and are based on complaints from five women. These charges surface five years following an exposĂ© by The Guardian in 2021, which detailed claims of groping, harassment, and bullying made against Clarke by 20 women during his time on the set of “Doctor Who.” Clarke vehemently denied these allegations.
According to The Guardian, the recent legal actions stem from an investigation initiated in September 2025. Clarke is scheduled to appear at Westminster Magistrates Court on October 21.
Beyond “Doctor Who,” Clarke is recognized for his work in writing and starring in teen crime dramas such as “Kidulthood” (2006), “Adulthood” (2008), and “Brotherhood” (2016), addressing themes of drug abuse, bullying, and violence in London’s streets. He directed “Adulthood” and helmed both the direction and production of “Brotherhood.” Clarke’s acting credits also encompass films like “Centurion” (2010), “Fast Girls” (2012), “Star Trek Into Darkness” (2013), and the television series “Bulletproof” (2018-2021).
