“Discover Ljubljana: New easyJet Route from London-Luton”

Ljubljana, a Central European city often overlooked for short breaks, will now be connected to London-Luton Airport through a new easyJet route. The flight duration is less than two-and-a-half hours, making it an ideal destination for quick getaways with its fairytale castles, medieval old town, and river exploration opportunities.

Starting on October 26, the new route to Ljubljana offers one-way fares from £40.99. Autumn is recommended for a visit to this picturesque city, where visitors can enjoy the Festive Fair Christmas market later in the year, indulging in traditional sausages and mulled wine along the river.

Perched on a green hill overlooking the city, Ljubljana Castle stands out with its medieval charm. Accessible by road or a scenic funicular railway, the castle boasts an ornate chapel, expansive formal gardens, and the intriguing Museum of Puppetry. Visitors can also unwind at the castle’s restaurants with outdoor terraces.

Exploring Ljubljana on foot is convenient as the city is compact and boasts the largest car-free zone in the European Union, eliminating traffic hassle. Must-visit spots include PreÅ¡ernov Trg Square, featuring the iconic pink Franciscan Church of the Annunciation, and the unique interactive artwork “The Area With Ljubljana’s Own Weather.” Strolling across the Tromostovje leads to the medieval old town, characterized by colorful baroque architecture and winding alleys.

For a different perspective, visitors can opt for a boat ride along the river to admire the bourgeois townhouses and landmarks like the Dragon Bridge with its striking sculptures. Ljubljana stands out as an affordable city break destination compared to other European cities, with economical dining options and reasonable prices for local beers.

Accommodation choices in the car-free city center cater to various budgets. The 5-star Zlata Ladjica Boutique Hotel offers individually designed rooms with rustic accents and river views starting from £250 per night, while Cacao Rooms provides budget-friendly, comfortable lodging steps away from historic squares for around £107 per night.
