During a garden party in Bermuda, the King reminisced about his family’s past travels on the Royal Yacht Britannia, expressing his inability to match his sister, the Princess Royal’s extensive global visits. He fondly recalled reuniting with his parents, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, upon their return from a Commonwealth tour that included Bermuda, highlighting the significance of Bermuda in their family history.
Staying at the recently refurbished Government House, the King noted the lingering scent of fresh paint. In a toast to Bermuda, he emphasized the island’s importance within the British family and its historical ties to his late parents’ visits, including their Coronation Tour stop in 1953.
Reflecting on the cherished memories of the Royal Yacht Britannia, the King mentioned his sister’s frequent visits to Bermuda, acknowledging his struggle to match her extensive travels.
