A young boy has tragically passed away following an incident where he was injured by a tree that fell in a residential area of Stafford. The authorities responded to the emergency on Holmcroft Road in the Holmcroft neighborhood around 6:30 pm last Saturday after receiving reports of a serious situation.
Police officers, paramedics from the West Midlands Ambulance Service, and crews from Midlands Air Ambulance all swiftly arrived at the scene. Despite their immediate efforts, the boy could not be saved and was declared deceased at the location shortly after 7:30 pm.
As investigations continue, a significant police cordon has been established, with the public advised to steer clear of the area. A spokesperson from Staffordshire Police conveyed the heartbreaking news, stating that the boy’s next of kin have been notified of the tragic incident.
The police spokesperson mentioned, “We received the report of the fallen tree on Holmcroft Road and our officers, along with medical personnel, attended the scene promptly. Unfortunately, despite all attempts, the young boy could not be rescued and was pronounced dead on-site. We urge the public to avoid the vicinity as we proceed with our inquiries.”
